We’re happy to share that the Italian Journal of Engineering Geology and Environment (IJEGE) has released a Special Issue dedicated to the TRIQUETRA Project, published on 7 October 2025 and freely available online. The collection showcases how TRIQUETRA advances the protection of cultural heritage at risk from natural and human-induced hazards, blending earth observation, geospatial documentation, and risk-informed conservation.
What’s inside
The Special Issue includes a foreword on the TRIQUETRA vision and a set of case-driven studies from our pilot sites and tools, such as:
- Geometric documentation of Greek cultural heritage sites within TRIQUETR
- Underwater heritage monitoring combining satellite imagery with a novel flash LiDAR platform.
- USV-based exploration at a UNESCO World Heritage property in shallow waters.
- Climate risk identification and monitoring at the Smuszewo lakeshore archaeological site (Poland).
- Remote-sensing-supported hazard monitoring for Ventotene & S. Stefano (Italy), plus a focused study on Punta Eolo.
- Frost and conservation challenges at Kalapodi (Greece) and engineering-geological & geophysical surveys at Aegina Kolonna to support mitigation planning.
- Overviews of TRIQUETRA’s innovative methods, Knowledge Base Platform, and Decision Support System for safeguarding cultural heritage.
